Program Overview

The B.Sc. Home Science (Fashion Design) program combines the scientific foundations of Home Science with the creative and technical aspects of Fashion Design. It equips students with comprehensive knowledge of textiles, apparel design, garment construction, and consumer behavior, preparing them for diverse career opportunities in the fashion and lifestyle industries. Full-Time Undergraduate Programme. Eligibility: 10+2 pass in any stream — Arts / Commerce / Science / Home Science.

Textile Science & Fibre Technology

Study of natural and synthetic fibres, yarn manufacturing, fabric construction methods, and textile testing procedures.

Fashion Illustration & Design

Techniques in figure drawing, fashion croquis, colour theory, and digital illustration tools for apparel visualization.

Garment Construction & Pattern Making

Hands-on training in flat pattern drafting, draping, grading, and industrial sewing techniques for womenswear, menswear, and childrenswear.

Fashion Merchandising & Consumer Behaviour

Principles of retail buying, visual merchandising, trend forecasting, and understanding consumer psychology in the fashion market.

Surface Ornamentation & Embroidery

Traditional and contemporary embroidery techniques, fabric printing, dyeing methods, and surface embellishment for fashion applications.

CAD for Fashion & Portfolio Development

Computer-aided design software for pattern making and illustration, plus professional portfolio creation for industry placement.
